WebQuicky

Welcome to the homepage of the WebQuicky-project which will provide you with useful information about WebQuicky. Sadly this page is still under construction. But if you have any question please write us an email.

What is WebQuicky?

WebQuicky is (I better ought to say ‚ WebQuicky will be…' :) a lightweight Content-Management-System (CMS) for everybody. WebQuicky is pure java. So it is platformindependent and should be able to run with any operatingsystem (e.g. Windows, Linus, MacOS). All you need is a PC with java installed and some webspace which is accessible via FTP.

How dose WebQuicky work?

First of all the WebQuicky-client has to be installed on your PC and on the PC of each other person who will need to edit the webpage-content.

On member has to fit the Administrator-roll. He sets up a WebQuicky-project. The project-file is an encrypted file which is stored on the webserver. It contains basic information about the project like a list of all team-members and their rolls in the project.

If the project has been initialised a member fitting the Designer-roll has to setup the page-templates (HTML-pages with special WebQuick-tags). This page-templates will bee used to generate the specific content-page.

This content-page is generated by a member fitting the Editor-roll. He can edit specific sections of the content but dose not need to have any HTML-know-how at all to do so. The HTML-Design is already done by the Designer. The Editor only has to edit the sections the Designer has marked with special WebQuicky-tags in the page-template.
